Please tell any who live south and east in the Dallas area that we have begun a monthly Sacred Harp singing in Palmer.

It appears we have a core group of six for the September singing, our first, plus what our free radio and newspaper publicity attracts. 

Our singing is geared toward attracting new people to the Sacred Harp tradition. It will take time. We have patience.

     - The Houston Primitive Baptist Church will host a 5th Sunday meeting and communion in August.  Services begin on Friday night, with super at 5:30 and singing at 6:30.  We will meet on Saturday morning at 10 AM and in the afternoon at 2 PM (lunch and super after each service).  Also, on Sunday morning at 10 AM with singing, preaching and communion (lunch to follow).  For more information, please contact Eld.      - Elder Mike Webb, the pastor of the Mt. Zion Primitive Baptist Church in Fort Worth, Texas has promised to be with us at Dallas that Sunday.  We love Elder Webb and his precious family.  We certainly are looking forward to 5th Sunday and trust that the Lord will poor out sweet liberty upon his efforts.  We would like to invite those from our sister Churches who can be with us that Sunday, to come and worship with us.

September 13, 2008 (2nd Weekend in September – Saturday Afternoon only)

     - The Grace Primitive Baptist Church will begin having Saturday afternoon services before the 2nd Sunday during the months of August, September and October.  Services will start at 3:00pm.  Eld. Pat Young has said that they hope that this meeting will allow them to have an additional time to fellowship with other brethren from the area and even provide a time when those from outside the Houston area can visit.  Also, that it will provide an opportunity to hear ministers that they do not get to hear regularly, including those from both the local sister Churches and those from outside the area.  They have asked for prayers that the Lord will bless their efforts to serve and praise His great name.  For more details, please contact Eld.      - The Snyder Primitive Baptist Church in Snyder, Texas will host an annual meeting the 3rd weekend in September of 2008. The meeting will begin on Friday night through Sunday morning.  The Church at Snyder is located at 2011 Avenue M (79549) between 20th and 21st streets.  Local hotels include a Best Western, a Days Inn and the Purple Sage Motel.      - The First Primitive Baptist Church of Dallas will host their annual meeting the 4th weekend in September.  There will be a sandwich supper on Friday night, followed by services.  Then services again Saturday morning, afternoon and evening.  We will probably try to start our preaching services on Saturday night around 6:30pm.  Our Sunday worship services will be immediately followed by our Communion service.  We would love to see visitation from our sister Churches, as well as ministering servants that the Lord may send our way.  For more information, please contact Bro.
