Morning Thoughts

We have obtained permission to post Elder Philip Conley's daily devotionals called "Morning Thoughts." A new section has been created with the same name. It is dedicated just to Brother Philips writings. If you have never read after him, you are missing out. The writings are timely and very edifying. Please pray that God would continue to add His blessings to those who take a few minutes from their busy schedules to see what message The Lord brings through these short , but powerful messages.

Passing of Brother Arthur Nall

Our precious Brother, Arthur Nall was called home to be with The Lord , July 11, 2008 at 5:15AM. He was pronounced to have cancer just a little over a month ago. We are thankful to The Lord that his passing was not preceded by prolonged suffering.

Brother Art was a example of faithfulness that we could all look to and pattern our lives after. He was always the first to be at the meeting house every Sunday morning to open up and to get the coffee going. He knew the benefits of the fellowship that were to be enjoyed by getting to the  meeting house early. Brother Nall was 93 years old and was limited in what he could do in his role as deacon. Even so, it never did stop him from volunteering to help. He was a faithful soldier of the cross.

His favorite song was “The Love of God.”  You could always  see his face light up when conversing with him about  the doctrine of regeneration and Gods sovereignty. There is no doubt that he loved the precious truths of God.

Sometimes it is the little things that mean the most. Brother Art was well known to express love in a special way. He always greeted everyone who came into the meeting house. Every time someone visited for the first time, brother Art would greet them with a small gift in wrapping paper and tied with a bow. It was a refrigerator magnet with a poem on it. I still have the one he gave Betty and I the first time we visited about 3 years ago,

 This is the poem.

This is a very special gift that you can never see,

The reason it’s so special is,

It’s just for you from me.

Whenever you are lonely,

Or even feeling blue,

You only have to hold this gift,

And know I think of you.

You never can unwrap it,

Please leave the ribbon tied,

Just hold the gift close to your heart,

It filled with Love inside.

He never failed to produce one of these gifts whenever someone new walked through the doors of the  meeting house. Brother Art was also loved by the children of our church. He always kept his pockets well stocked with chewing gum or Werthers  candy,  and the children knew it.

Brother Art will be missed by everyone here at Paradise very much.

The family has indicated that there will be no services here. Brother Arts desire was to be returned to the Pensacola Florida area and that his funeral be preached by his former pastor of Friendship  Primitive Baptist church.

We are thankful for all of those who offered up prayers for this precious brother.

He was laid to rest in Pensacola Florida on Wednesday July 16, 2008

About Primitive Baptist

We have created a short 3 and 1/2 minute video entitled "About Primitive Baptist" giving a general introduction to the Primitive Baptist Church. If you are hearing about the Primitive Baptist church for the first time I recommend you take a few minutes and watch the video. Click on this link to go to the video.

Word of Sovereign Grace Program

In addition to placing our weekly video messages on the internet, we are now having them cablecast on Cable TV Open Channel 28 in Fort Worth Texas. If you live in Fort Worth keep your eyes open for the program.  It is scheduled to run at 7AM each Sunday morning, 11AM each Tuesday morning and 6AM each Saturday morning. We will be working to put the program on other stations as we find brethren who are willing to sponsor us in their community. Once again we beg an interest in your prayers  first and foremost that The God of heaven will be glorified through our feeble efforts, and that God's children may hear the good news of salvation by the grace of God alone.

 Audio Bible Now Available

A considerable amount of time and effort has been put into making an audio bible available here on paradisepbc.org. Thanks be to The Lord we have been able to do this. This is a nice feature for several reasons. I do not need to elaborate on the benefits of listening to the reading of Gods word. We are convinced that the King James version is the best available. We have placed each book in a play list. Just click on the link to the book and the entire book will begin to play chapter by chapter starting from chapter 1.  If you want to listen to a specific chapter, just stop the play list and choose the specific chapter you want to listen to from the list of chapters for that book. We hope you enjoy this new feature. Click here to go to the audio bible.

Video Special Section Added to Website

We have added a new section to the website for viewing special videos. These videos will be on special subjects that are of importance to the church and the cause of Christ. The first one is entitled "Should Christians Observe Christmas?" The truth about what the holiday is all about is usually shunned and swept under the rug in favor following man made tradition. This video is not earth shattering, but should stir up your pure mind to consider where you stand in relation to the truth. Click here to go to the video. Look for more video specials in the days ahead.

 Weekly Video Sermons Now Available

In keeping with the conviction which this website was founded upon, as an outreach of Paradise Primitive Baptist Church, and after much prayer we have decided to attempt to offer video of the weekly messages from Paradise Primitive Baptist Church here on the website, and the internet. I say attempt because this is not as easy as one might think.  We will experiment for a season to see if it will be profitable to continue to do this. At this point, because our space is limited on our hosting server, we have to use public video hosting sites because of the huge demand video makes on both disk space and bandwidth. I would like feedback from our website visitors to determine if this is something we want to continue to do. Please let me know if this is something you want to see continued. Click here to go to the new video section. We also ask that you pray for us that God's will is done in all we endeavor to do. We do not desire to even attempt to make the church popular with the world. However we do have a desire to reach God's elect with the good news of the gospel of Jesus Christ, not in order to populate heaven , but to feed them with knowledge and understanding of how great things their God has done for them.

A Capella Singing Now in Play List

We now have approximately 225 A Capella hymns on the A Capella Singing link here on the website.   You now can open the page and all the songs will play   continuously, instead of having to select one at a time. Though you can still do that if you want to. We hope you enjoy these select songs of praise unto our God. Let us know what you think about the website and the changes we are making.

The Lord Blesses Our First Annual Meeting

The Paradise Primitive Baptist Church hosted her first annual meeting the weekend of 4,5 & 6 May. Without a doubt The presence of The Lord was strongly felt throughout the entire  series of services. Not only did we all enjoy the felt presence of The Lord, we were further blessed to have 10 visiting Elders. Unfortunately we were not able to preach them all, but those who did preach were richly blessed to proclaim the glorious gospel of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. They all delivered timely and needed messages. Attendance also was very good. We also had 5 charter members in attendance. We are very thankful to The Lord for the abundant blessings we enjoyed. If you desire to do so you can listen to the messages preached by going to the audio page or clicking here.
